AVOID!!

Avoid this company! They are great at their sales then all customer service goes completely out the window. We were promised a quicker delivery time if we paid extra to send a ‘sole use container’ so we decided to pay the extra $2000 to fill a container with the promised delivery time of 6-8 weeks (with some wriggle room of course). Well, 6 weeks after the uplift, when I enquired about an ETA, I was informed that our possessions had not even been booked onto a ship yet!! Fast forward another 2 weeks and non-existent customer service with non return of calls, no response, no responsibility taken for the delay at all, ridiculous excuses and a complete lack of integrity, the items were finally shipped 8 weeks after being removed from the property!! This has doubled the promised timeframe.

This has cost us thousand and thousands of dollars in Airbnb fees, loss of a rental property agreement and OSS will not even refund the extra $2,000 they charged for a promised ‘fast shipping’. OSS are complete crooks!! Avoid! Chris Farley and Jodie in management need to be sacked.

Stress free move.

I moved from Sydney to Texas. Was my first time moving overseas and I was extremely nervous about it all and trusting a company. OSS were outstanding from start to finish, from the original quote, to promptly answering my thousands of questions, to arranging the packing (uplift) day and even helping me fill out the customs forms. The removalists were professional, quick and neat. The itemized list they gave me was easy to understand and correct. As they were packing I did not see the materials they used, but when I received my shipment in Texas I was blown away with the quality of the materials used and how well protected everything was. Not a single item was even cracked (sent numerous fragile items). Very reliable company.

Butchers.

Used OSS to move from Melbourne to Perth for a corporate move. After making it specifically known that we had some fragile items which included a kevlar race ski and surf boards we were confident everything would be okay. To our dismay the ski was severely damaged as was both boards. When we questioned what had gone wrong they trotted out a pre rehearsed "some damage sometimes occurs when the load settles" and "people tend to notice pre existing damage when their goods arrive due to better light etc". What a cop out - I think I would have known if my brand new ski was nearly buckled in half. $4000 just written off with not so much as a second thought from OSS. Add to the list of damage including picture frames, BBQ and broken fishing rods I will never ever ever use this bunch of butchers ever again. Do yourself a favour and steer well clear.

What a joke.

My girlfriend used to work for this mob and had to leave coz of consistent harassment by there operations manager, if your a good looking girl working there then you got no chance this guys on to you like a homing beacon.
What a grub!
You call this professionalism? Service with integrity? Please.. Muppets more like it. It makes me sick. This is meant to be professional outfit but how can it be with individuals such as this praying
On the vulnerable.

She has never been happier to leave a employer in all her life and can you blame her? No.
She's the victim.

If they can't look after there vulnerable employees, how can they look after there customers. That's what I ask.
Avoid this company.
Enough said.

We´ll never, ever, be together (me and my goods).

First the positives. The price is competitive and the communications with the company in Australia were fine - up until the goods were picked up and payment received.
Now the big negative: My goods were picked up on 6 March. It is now 2 July and this morning I have been told that they will TRY to schedule my delivery for sometime during the weeks starting 24 July. That means it will be almost 5 months before I MAY get my stuff. The pyschological impact of living in a foreign country with nothing familiar except what you have packed in your suitcase when you flew in can not be overstated.
The European partner used by this company was IrishRelo and they should not be in the business if they can't get half a container of stuff from Dublin to Portugal in less than 2.5 months. Any request for assistance in reducing this delay sent to OSS (2 weeks ago) has not yet got a response.
I will never use again nor recommend this company to anyone.

Shipping - Sydney to Vancouver.

OSS World Wide Movers had Great customer service in the beginning, payment taken, and pick up was a breeze and friendly. Then it all stopped. No communication, I have to keep inquiring on where my stuff is. It's been 3 months now and my stuff is still back in the Sydney Port, I've been in Canada since Jan 3, and my stuff was picked up Dec. 30.

I'm not in a rush, but when I asked it's where abouts, I was told, "why we quote 10 to 18 weeks as when the container the departs it takes 30 days on the water and 7 to 15 business days for clearance and delivery."

I'm not sure what kind of explanation that is? 30 days on the water and 7-15 days for clearance is only 6 weeks, so I'm not sure what the point of that was.

but anyways, it's not so much the time it's taking, although I do worry my stuff is getting mildew on some docks in the harbour, but the fact that they don't give periodic updates, and then make like you're putting them out, or asking stupid questions when you inquire, seems a bit harsh, and I chose them based on customer service. It was so amazing in the beginning, but once they have your business and your money, it seems the caring and attention ends, and your business is no longer important to them.

Good rates though, but I guess by reading the above, we know why.

My shipper there was amazing, arrived and cleared in 6 weeks from San Diego, California to Sydney. Unfortunately, they aren't yet in Australia, but I believe they are coming soon. But from US / Canada / UK, etc. check them out upakweship.com

to be clear, I'm leaving this review before receiving my shipment. I'll review again after I received it, when ever that might be.

Extra charges.

We used OSS recently for an international move.
All seemed fine up until pickup, with quick responses and nothing too much.
Once our container was well on its way is when they started to add charges to us.
Firstly they said that the shipping company had increased their rates and we had to pay another $4000. This seemed a little odd that a shipping company would not provide written notice well ahead of their rate changes as most companies have to for their customers.
We were tracking the container online and knew that it was around 5 days away and on-time , so we tried to contact OSS but with no response, we tried for a number of days with nothing back, very different experience to the one we had prior to them wanting some thing from us.
We finally received an email from the local storage company where the container had been dropped off by the train, stating that we had run over our free period and had to pay for the storage fees. Bare in mind that we had been pressing daily for OSS to organise a delivery to us and has no response .
The local delivery company then insisted that we pay this and OSS advised us to pay them and they would get the money back to us as it should not be our charge..
After we paid then delivery company still could not deliver to us for another 5 days as they had seemingly not arranged anything with the local vendors and clearly had not been tracking our container.
Once the container finally arrived the delivery team told us that they do not normally unpack the boxes and were already in their lorry before I could argue the case and had no one locally I could contact to push the case.
After this I contacted OSS for the refund of the extra storage charges which they promised to get for us, and asked for a refund of the unpacking fees we paid in good faith.
After several emails and us threatening legal action , they finally responded. Then after 2 months we received partial refund for the storage fees but we're still short around another $600.
I would not recommend this firm even with the prices as low as they offer.

Average.

I used OSS World Wide Movers recently for a move from OZ->NZ. I just want to post my experience with them to help others. I will just present the facts and let them speak for themselves. I contacted 4 removal companies in SE Queensland; these guys were the most professional and did not seem to use hard sell tactics. The sales person was professional and seemed to know the in's and out of moving. As a side, Wridgways was the most aggressive and rude to deal with. (Avoid!)
OSS quote was not the cheapest, but acceptable. My theory was not to take the cheapest quote in a hope to get some quality service. I was using their shared container service so I would have to wait until they could fill the container before they would send it. I was informed the worst case scenario would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. I double checked this figure multiple times with various staff.
I then moved my pickup date a few times and they had no issue with this. The pickup day arrived and everything was packed up well, although I did box most of my stuff myself. The furniture was packaged well. No problem so far.
From this point onward communication seemed to die away.  No information regarding anything was given to me voluntarily. Finally 7-8 weeks later I was informed that it was on its way.
The removal company in NZ was very bad at communicating and delayed the delivery for 1-2 weeks as they were just not coming our way at this point in time.
Finally 12 weeks later our shipment was delivered (4 weeks over worst case scenario of 8 weeks). Some boxes had been crushed, but nothing badly broken. Our queen bed mattress was bent in the middle. It must have been packed like that for some time. Delivery guys were pleasant and a little rough with the boxes.   Overall an average experience.

What have we learnt?
1. The industry is general incompetent and basically trying to make as much money as possible and do as little as possible.
2. Insurance is a joke. Only insure if you are moving very expensive items. Remember there is a clause that can get them out of almost everything. If you do claim it’s going to be a very long road. Factor this into your decision.
3. Remember you will basically sign away the right for you to claim or demand anything. The company will not be held responsible for ANYTHING that goes wrong.
4. Ask over and over again is there any extra expenses.
5. Normally Customs charges are not included. Ask the company to give you an idea and then research this yourself. If there is a huge different, this could be a good indication your company is lying to get your business. Also know what is allowed into the country, don’t rely on removal companies, they don’t know anything.
6. Never believe shipment times, drill them to find the truth. Or you could just add about 40% to the time.   Summary.   It’s probably better to sell all your furniture and buy new or second hand on the other side. Ship only things that are of sentimental value and that fits into a box clothing etc. It’s highly likely something will be damaged. Avoid the industry altogether. Maybe one day they will fix their problems with integrity and honesty.

Goods held ransoms for more money.

International move from Melbourne to dubai after a great experience with those guys just until they got paid now after three months surpassing the dates stipulates in the contract goods are not shipped yet, and I was told by them either wait for unknown period or pay them a great sum to ship my items even tho I have paid door to door already.
The dates they give are meaningless I should’ve been more careful as most of the review of this company is horriable if you are thinking ohh they give great rates that’s because they make their money in other places after they take your goods and hold it ransom. And then you are left powerless.

This is by far has caused a great deal of headache and financial difficulties and if I wasn’t back here in Australia they wouldn’t care as they will not replay to you so I had to call them..

Just stay away and choose a company with a know name.
Very unprofessional the nerves for holding my items ransom for more money as if the contract hey had me signed means absolutely nothing.

Dishonest!

We hired OSS to move our stuff to South Africa. They pickup up the stuff all right. We paid and didn't hear back from them. Then they tell us AFTER that they haven't received any requests for South Africa so our shared container is not going anywhere.

We paid $1875 to them. We found another company and requested a refund. They tell us now that they can only refund $855 of the total . I assume it costs $1020 to pick up stuff and $855 to ship and deliver on the other side?!?
